Each game is played on one of four specially constructed boards representing the four classical elements. It is a ton of fun to play and a great twist on the classic version of chess! Believed to be originally developed and played by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, Gnostic (or Enochian) Chess has a rich connection to the spiritual and elemental. Also included are two new designs for Enochian typefaces, Donald Tyson's reconstruction of the Enochian Book of Spirits, and much more. Christine is the author of Herbs in Magic and Alchemy and Enochian Chess of the Golden Dawn, and she coauthored The Equinox and Solstice Ceremonies of the Golden Dawn and Z5: Secret Teachings of the Golden Dawn. Gnostic Chess is a four-player chess variant in which two teams strive to capture both kings of the opposing team. But the Golden Dawn Enochian system is also quite powerful, and you will learn all of the inner secrets of this system so you can practice it on your own.
